Bacteria in school

 Aim:  

I want to find out where the dirtiest place is in school is

Method: 

Equipment  

• Petri dish 
• Cotton tip 
• Marker pen 
• Selotape  

Instructions: 

1. Get our equipment 

2.Divide your plate using a marker 

3. lable the section with what you swab 

4. take a cotton tip and swab a surface 

5. gently swap the surface of the agar jelly 

6. and then put it in your cup thing

7. now test

What is a base?

 An acid is a liquid that has a Hydrogen H atom that can react.

For example: 

• Nitric acid              HNO3
• Sulfuric acid           H2SO4
• Hydrocloric acid     HCI                  

A base is the oppisite of an acid and has a OH (hydroxcide) that can react                       

                     

sand dunes facts

 For a while now me and my hurumanu class have been reading this book called Uncle Don knows heaps of wacky stuff. It is all about facts for the ocean. And today we had to write facts about sand dunes. But we couldnt do it on google slides. or anthing on google drive we had to do it on canva,jamboard and stuff like that. I done mine on canva. And my link presentaion should be down there. 

Reflection: 

I wasn't my first time using canva i used it once in primary school but thats all other than that I had a hard time trying to find the perfect pictures for it was weird not using google docs or something like that but I was able to do it alright

what is an acid

 Names of acids: 

1. Hydrochloric acid/HCl   

 2. Sulfuric acid/H2S04 

3. Nitric acid /HNO3

What is acid: 

an acid contains Hydrogen atoms that break off to react with a substance.

I want to find out how to tell if something is an acid. 

Method:  

Equipment: 

• Beake/cronical flask 
• Red cabbage 
• Boilling water 
• Dropper 
• Test tubes 
• Diffrent samples for testing  

Instructions: 

1. Get you equipment ready 

2. Rip the cabbage into small pieces then put them into a beaker/croncal flask   

3. Add 100 mL of hot water 

4. grab testing cup

5 Add the acids 

6.  add cabage juice 

7. make colours

meassage in a bottle

 here is my story i wrote As Jonah Mitchell rides the waves on the beach he sees a sparkle in the water. He gets distracted by it and doesn't see a big wave and he gets washed up back to the sand but he cant find his board anywhere he goes back to the ocean and tries to find but instead he sees the shiny object that distracted it he saw it was a bottle that had a note in it he grabs it and goes back to shore he forget about his board and just goes home. 

When he goes home he decides to open the bottle and read the note. It took him awhile to take off the lid but he did it in the end he was able to do it he reads the note and it says this note is from isaac newton and it 1660 i have been doing a bunch of experiments with sunlight and i have made light in a bit of glass and it also hangs on the ceiling i hope when someone finds this it will be when everybody uses my lights. It is 1665 now and this is my theory about gravity yesterday a apple fell on my head and that made me think of a thing that I call gravity. I am hoping someone will find this in the future and so they can know I invented gravity when people don't need to ride horses to get around from place to place. 

Jonah is shocked by this and takes it to people that are masters in this stuff and when he gets there they are amazed of his discovery and it is all true and now they know exactly when he invented they say to him he should put it in a museum and he does and the museum employes don't believe him and they tell him to get out he sadly sighs and walks out of the museum he then goes to the beach and pulls the bottle out and throws it in the ocean never to be seen again. 

10 years later jonah is walking on the tongan beach then jonah's son Frank finds a bottle with a note inside he says to his mum Ramona and his dad jonah and they come over to him and frank says i found a bottle with a note inside jonah says give to me i will check it out frank passes it over and jonah pulls the note out and is amazed that it is the same bottle that he found when he was 22 jonah told his family and they said that he should try put it in the museum again he says ok and goes to the tongan museum and gives it to them and they do believe him because it's not the same museum he gets 50k and this time he walks out happy.    

Making sherbet

Aim: 

I want to find out how to make sherbet  

Research: 

Method: 

Equipment 

• icing sugar and koreo 
• cup/conatainer 
• citric acid or tartaric acid 
• Baking powder 
• popscicle stick for mixing   

Instructions: 

1. get all your equipment ready 

2. Add on teaspoon of sugar/koreo to the cup. 

3. Add half a teaspoon of acid to the cup. 

4.add half a teaspoon of baking powder to the cup. 

5.mix with a stick 

6.taste the hserbet, and adjust the flavour.  

Results: 

What happend in the cup - nothing

what haooend when i ate it - it bubbled up in my in my mouth
